WHAT IS CSF?
CSF stands for California Scholarship Federation. CSF is a statewide honor society that encourages "scholarship through service". CSF Chapters throughout the state perform duties and service that better their community. We, in the Lowell Chapter, provide services to our school and community primarily through our tutoring programs and teacher assistance.
HOW DO I SIGN UP FOR A TUTOR?
Click on the "Tutoring Services" tab. Then click on the subject you need tutoring in and submit the form online!
WHAT IF I ONLY NEED HELP ONCE?
No problem! You can pass by the Library anytime between Block 1 and 4:45 PM, and we'll have "Drop-In" tutors at a designated CSF table. If Drop-In tutors cannot help you at the time, they will refer you to a tutor that can.
WHAT IF MY TUTOR DOESN'T SHOW UP?
Please email us immediately if you are having problems with your tutor.

CAN I TURN IN MY APPLICATION AFTER THE DEADLINE?
Membership is neither automatic nor compulsory. The CSF by-laws require that the eligible student actually apply for membership, and retroactive membership (after the deadline) is prohibited. However, certain extreme circumstances may justify an exception to this rule; these may include: A lengthy absence from school during the application period; an incomplete grade completed (or a previously recorded grade changed) after the deadline, which qualifies a previously ineligible student. Excuses such as forgetting or not bothering to apply, inability to find one's report card in a timely fashion, failing to heed school announcements about the application period, absence on the last day of the application period, and other mundane excuses are not acceptable. The judgment of the adviser is ALWAYS the final determination of what constitutes taking "advantage of the opportunity to become a member."
WHAT HAPPENS IF MY TUTEE DOESN'T SHOW UP?
1. Tutees who do not show up the first time: You will send an email to your tutee asking why they did not show up. (Please cc lowellcsf@gmail.com when you do so)
2. Tutees who do not show up the second time: Tutors must report back to CSF officers right away stating that their tutee did not come. Then CSF officers will send an email to the tutee confirming if they still want to be tutored, and they have to reply back to us within 72 hours.
HOW DO I GET CSF LIFE MEMBERSHIP?
​Rules for obtaining Life Membership status:
1. A student must be a full member of CSF at least four (4) semesters
a. These memberships are based on grades earned in the 10th, 11th, and 12th grades.
b. All memberships are based on grades earned during the previous semester.

HOW DO I KNOW IF I QUALIFY AS A TUTOR?
Please check the paper application under the "Tutor" tab. If you can fulfill the points with your previous semester's grades, then you are eligible to become a tutor for this current semester.
